00:37 | Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana and Thailand’s equestrian team won a silver medal for the dressage category at the 29th SEA Games in Malaysia.

02:05 | Thais from across the country continue to visit the Grand Palace to pay their respects to the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Meanwhile, the renovation of the Royal Great Victory Carriage is now 95 per cent complete, and is expected to be finished at the end of the month.

03:25 | The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (MOAC) has launched 23 agricultural projects worth Bt29 million (about US$870,300) in Nakhon Ratchasima Province. The projects are aimed to generate extra income for farmers, by teaching them effective livestock management, and the production of bio-fertilizers.

04:31 | Thais are flocking to banks and Treasury offices across Thailand after the the Treasury Department began accepting reservations for commemorative medals to mark the royal cremation ceremony of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

06:06 | The cabinet has appointed China International Railway (CIR) and China Railway Design Corporation (CRDC) to come up with the design and service agreement for the Bangkok-Nakhon Ratchasima section of the high-speed rail project.

Furthermore, the Deputy Government Spokesperson Lieutenant General Weerachon Sukhontapatipak, also said that the cabinet have agreed to expedite repairs to damaged infrastructure in Thailand’s flood-hit northeastern provinces. He said that Bt2.1 billion (about US$63 million) will be disbursed from the 2017 Budget to fund the repairs, while another Bt1.4 billion (about US$42 million) will be taken from the 2018 Budget.

09:33 | The Metropolitan Police Bureau (MPB) is organizing a community service program to improve traffic around schools and busy intersections across Bangkok. Over 900 volunteers and officers from the Bureau of Highway Safety will be station around schools on weekdays, and busy intersections on the weekends.

12:29 | Rising water levels on the Mekong River are disrupting logistic operations between Thailand and Laos. Meanwhile, repairs to the Huai Sai Kamin Reservoir in Nong Khai has been completed, and the reservoir is expected to resume operations by the end of the week.

14:02 | To reduce the impact of Typhoon Hato, which is expected to affect Thailand between August 23-28, the Director-General of the Royal Irrigation Department, Sanchai Ketworachai has instructed local authorities to closely monitor dams and irrigation canals in areas that are prone to flooding.

15:10 | Minister of Industry, Uttama Savanayana, said on Tuesday that the Ministry of Industry is promoting S-Curve Industries in the Kingdom’s northeastern provinces, to attract new investors in the field of aviation, biofuel, logistics, medicines, and robotics.

20:04 | The Director General of the Department for Skills Development, Teerapol Koonmuang said that SMEs are responding positively to the government’s utilisation of the Skills Development Fund to develop the skills of their employees. According to him, more than Bt53 million (about US$1.588 million) has been borrowed by participating businesses, to train around 3.5 million workers since the Fund was founded on July 28.

21:22 | The Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion (OSMEP) organised a seminar to help Thais SMEs expand their presence to India and Laos.
