00:44 | King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun yesterday hosted a Khon performance in front of Dusit Palace to celebrate the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s birthday.

The King also urged citizens to attend an exhibition on the late King’s Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (Sep), which includes items available for purchase from the SUPPORT Arts and Crafts Foundation of Queen Sirikit of the Ninth Reign.

02:20 | Government agencies nationwide have held activities to mark the birthday anniversary of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Activities included merit-making, clean-up activities, and performing charitable acts and donation.

09:08 | The Ministry of the Interior (MoI) has implemented over 6,000 Pracharat markets across the country. Its Khlong Padung Krung Kasem market features over 170 stores selling quality items originating from across the Kingdom. It, and another 6,520 such markets nationwide will be open to the public until December 7.

10:21 | The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) has reported that eight provinces in southern Thailand are still experiencing flooding, with about one million people affected. Newsline take a look at the southern Thailand flood situation.

14:53 | Ang Thong Governor Weerawut Putraserani has participated in a 12-kilometer-long (about 7.5 miles) charity marathon to raise money to donate marathon being run by Artiwara Kongmalai, lead singer of rock band Bodyslam to raise money, for 11 hospitals nationwide.

Ang Thong youth have so far collected Bt607,414 (about US$18,612) from  seven districts to donate to the singer.

16:02 | A group of students from Satrirachinuthit School have donated Bt16,900 (about US$518) raised from fundraising activities to Udon Thani Governor, Wattana Putthichart, to support the ‘Step By Step’ campaign raising funds for 11 hospitals nationwide.

17:12 | The Department of Mental Health (DMH) has used a ceremony to recognise exemplary fathers who have dedicated themselves to caring for family members with mental health illness to raise public awareness of mental health issues and the treatment available.

18:25 | Saraburi Governor Bandit Thewithiwarak has given a refurbished home to a needy family in Tambon Ban Kaeng, Chaloem Phra Kiat District as part of the Pracharat Buri Home Project to repair and build homes for those in need.

19:48 | Thailand’s Department of Foreign Trade (DFT) has been told that the US Congress may extend Thailand’s inclusion in the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) programme, which provides preferential treatment for goods 120 developing countries. A decision is expected by the end of the year.

Thailand is the second largest beneficiary of the programme, behind India, accounting for about US$3 billion in preferential trade duties last year.

20:46 | Kasikornbank (KBank) has received approval to establish its Chinese headquarters in Shenzhen. In addition, KBank has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province to facilitate Chinese businesses who wish to invest in Thailand and vice versa.

KBank intends to reach out and connect with Chinese customers using digital technology, rather than opening additional brick and mortar premises.
