01:08 | The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) and the government have proposed that free food and drinks for those mourning the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej be distributed to volunteers at a site outside Sanam Luang before being transported to the Grand Palace.

02:25 | Thais have begun registering to participate as volunteers at initiatives inspired by King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun. Volunteers for the project, “Rao Tam Kwam-Dee Duay Hua-Jai” (“we will do all good things with our hearts”), will attend functions, events, and situations to assist those in need. 04:03 | China’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Wang Yi has met with Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha to discuss trade relations between Thailand and China.

05:08 | The National Reform Committee on Justice (NRCJ) will complete its reform plan for the annual police review process by December. At a previous meeting members had objected to seniority being the only basis for promotion as such a policy could lead to inefficiencies. The matter will be resolved before the end of this year.

06:26 | The government is collecting information on the approximately 14 million low-income earners who applied for the state welfare program in order to verify their qualifications. Those who have qualified for state welfare will be notified in September.

07:45 | Minister of Industry, Dr Uttama Savanayana, has announced four strategies to achieve Industry 4.0: improving Thai industries’ potential, developing an industrial ecosystem, supporting the creation of Industry 4.0, and raising skill standards for the 4.0 era. To assist Thailand SMEs Dr  Savanayana said that the ministry is planning to introduce a Bt38 billion (about US$1.138 billion)  financial aid package.

09:06 | Over 100 farmers in Nakhon Pathom Province have participated in an organic fertilizer-making workshop. Held in honor of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the activity sought to promote sustainable farming and decrease costs for farmers.

10:40 | The Public Relations Department (PRD) Chanthaburi Province office has taken part in a school lunch programme at the Chanthaburi Provincial Special Education Center to honour Princess Soamsawali’s 60th birthday on July 13.

13:33 | The Department of Provincial Administration (DoPA) has held a ceremony to bless Thai Muslims going to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, for the Hajj pilgrimage.

14:46 | Agencies under the Ministry of Labor (MoL)  have opened a center for the registration of undocumented foreign workers in Trat province, allowing businesses to comply with the Royal Decree on foreign labour management.

16:11 | The Ministry of Commerce (MoC) will host the Asean-India Expo and Forum next week to facilitate better relations between Asean member states and India. NBT World takes a closer look at what the forum hopes to achieve and what it means to the participating parties. The Asean-India Expo and Forum is open to the public and will be held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center  between August 2-5.
