05:13 | The government and the Public Relations Department (PRD) have organised ceremonies to celebrate the King’s birthday.

06:24 | Residents of Surin province released 440,066 fish into local waters and planted tropical forest trees in honour of the King’s birthday.

08:03 | National Legislative Assembly (NLA) President Pornpetch Wichitcholchai has accepted a petition proposing an amendment of the Nuclear Energy Act. Dental Council chairman Paisarn Kangwornkij submitted the petition, arguing that the criminalising x-ray machines used in medical treatment has made it harder for dentists to do their jobs.

09:20 | The Police Commission has met to discuss appointments of senior positions within the Royal Thai Police (RTP) force. However, the meeting failed to make final decisions for some posts.

12:26 | An expected 4.7 per cent growth in exports has seen the Ministry of Finance (MoF) maintain its economic growth estimate for this year at 3.6 per cent. The economy grew by the expected 3.4-3.5 per cent in the second quarter of this year.

13:43 | The Ministry of Transport (MoT) has announced plans to expand a railway engineering school to meet the expected increase in demand for railway industry workers.

14:58 | A strong low-pressure system has led to flooding in Si Sa Ket, Sakon Nakhon, Khon Kaen, and Phichit provinces.

16:47 | The 20th Thailand Sports School Games have started in Nakhon Sawan province. Over 10,000 students from 20 schools in Thailand and Asean member states are competing in the games, which run until August 4.

17:42 | The Kanchanaburi Commerce Provincial Office and the Lower Central Provincial Cluster 1 have organised a fair to promote goods made in Kanchanaburi, Nakhon Phatom, Ratchaburi, and Suphanburi provinces. Titled ‘Miracle of the West’, the fair is also intended to bolster trade relations between these provinces, Myanmar’s Dawei, and China’s Guangxi.
