00:40 | Thais continue to descend on the Grand Palace to pay their respects to the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Nawamintrachinee Maehongson Industrial and Community Education College in Mae Hong Son province and the Roi Et Provincial Education Office have hosted artificial flower-making activities for his cremation ceremony on October 26.

01:45 | Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha has led government officials and civil servants in ceremonies to mark the 85th anniversary of the Parliament, and the Office of the Prime Minister.

03:21 | Deputy Prime Minister Dr Wissanu Krea-ngam has told a meeting attended by representative of some 160 government agencies to discuss improving Thais’ understanding of public issues that they are responsible for reporting their work to the public accurately and quickly in order to avoid distortions.

05:11 | Thailand’s Ministry of Social Development and Human Security has affirmed its commitment to fighting human trafficking after the United States’ latest Trafficking in Persons (TIP) report saw Thailand remain on the Tier 2 Watchlist.

Stakeholders attending the seminar discussed ways to make the justice system more effective in protecting Thailand youth, in addition to methods to deter youth from committing crimes, and reduce recidivism rates among rehabilitated youth.

08:54 | Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, Ormsin Chivapruck, has received a proposal for developing the country’s rubber industry from the Democrat Party which, among other things, requests that the government announce that it will not sell its stockpiled rubber, but use it within Thailand; that it will establish a public company to ensure price stability; and that it will discuss production and distribution targets with other rubber-producing countries. Mr Chivapruck will meet with rubber farmers in the South next week to gather further suggestions.
