00:41 | A royal representative has attended a special Mass organized by Catholics in Thailand to honour the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

01:39 | The dress code for those participating in the royal cremation ceremony has been announced by the Bureau of the Royal Household (BRH). Men must wear a black shirt, long black pants, and black dress shoes. Denim pants will not be allowed. Women must wear a black blouse that is not tight, a black skirt that extends below the knees, and black dress shoes. A sleeveless blouse or a spaghetti top will not be allowed.

02:52 | Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has said he is satisfied with operations to eradicate zero-dollar tours and urged government officials to adhere to regulations and improve tourist services. The China National Tourist Office in Thailand (CNTO), has taken Thailand’s approach against illegal tour operators as a model for other countries, and is cooperating with Thai authorities in checking Chinese tourist companies.

04:36 | The National Legislative Assembly (NLA) expects the Constitution Drafting Commission (CDC) to submit the remaining organic bills necessary before a general election can be held in November. Lawmakers will then have 60 days to debate and pass the bills. Due to rumors and confusion about the Water Resource Bill, NLA spokesman, Jetn Sirathranont, confirmed that the draft law doesn’t impose taxes on water used for agricultural purposes, but lawmakers have floated an idea to tax water used in the industrial sector.

05:39 | The Constitution Drafting Commission (CDC) believes that the NLA will not delay the general election. CDC chairman Meechai Ruchuphan said he is confident that the lawmakers won’t turn down the two draft acts which would postpone the election, and also has denied allegations that the government is attempting to cause a delay in the election, or attempting to stay in power.

06:31 | The government has introduced a project to promote the quality of life of underprivileged students in Phitsanulok Province. The project will equip 16 eligible schools in 16 districts across the province with better infrastructure, and the ability to provide nutritional meals to their students while offering them an electronic education system.

07:48 | The Rajaprajanugroh Foundation under royal patronage has delivered 1,000 relief bags and 10,000 baht cash aid for each victim’s family in flood-hit Satun Province. More than 22,000 households in seven districts were affected, with one person killed in the capital district.

08:33 | Ministry of the Digital Economy and Society (MDES) has visited the northeastern province of Sakon Nakhon to observe the Pracharat community internet project. The final goal is to equip 24,700 villages across the country with high-speed internet.

11:52 | Officials from the Ministry of Commerce (MoC) have visited Nan Province to check progress on the installation of electronic data capture (EDC) machines at Blue Flag Stores participating in the government welfare card scheme. The ministry urged store owners to speed up the installation process to reduce the distance and time people need to travel to use the cards.

12:56 | Nan Province held a special event to promote rice production and rice quality between October 6-8 to coincide with the harvest season, at which local farmers were advised to embrace organic farming.

13:51 | The Ministry of Energy (MoE) has confirmed that the private sector is allowed to buy fuel from any country and said that such purchases will not violate the Paris Climate Agreement. The ministry also stressed that the government is committed to  reducing greenhouse gas emissions produced during electricity generation by 37 per cent.

15:14 | The Thai Condominium Association (TCA) has forecast a 5 per cent increase in the numbers of condominiums in Bangkok and surrounding areas next year. The increase is due to investment by Thai and foreign real estate developers, particularly in land along the route of electric train lines and business areas. The price of Bangkok condominiums is expected to increase by 5-7 per cent in 2018 due to increased land prices. Condominium sales in Q4 2017 are expected to reach between Bt120-Bt130 billion (about US$3.593-$3.892 billion)
