If you are an entrepreneurs or the owners of a startup in Asean take note. Investible is coming to a city near you.

For the first time in four years Investible has extended its Overseas Talent Entrepreneurship Conference (OTEC) search to Southeast Asia, with six Asean member countries and Australia included. Up for grabs. The chance to win RMB1 million (about US$150,000) and the opportunity to access a RMB5 million (US$743,074) entrepreneurship loan.

To be held between April 29 and May 17, the Investible OTEC pitch days will enable entrepreneurs to pitch their innovative projects to represent their respective countries in the semi-finals at OTEC Kunming, China on May 28-30, ahead of the finals in Beijing in July.

Startups in Jakarta get to impress the judges first with pitches being heard on April 29 at GoWork Setiabudi. From there the search moves on to Thailand where entrepreneurs will be able to pitch their project at HUBBA-TO on May 9.

From there it’s off to Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) for the judging panel with Vietnamese startups able to pitch their projects on May 6 at Saigon Innovation HUB. Then on May 8 Investible goes to Kuala Lumpur where Malaysia’s startups can pitch their project to the judge at Worq.

From Kuala Lumpur the scouting continues to Manila for pitches on May 10 at Canva Offices, while on May 14 startups in Sydney, Australia are able to join the pitch competition at Haymarket HQ. Last, but by no means least, Singapore startups and entrepreneurs get to pitch their concepts at TBD on May 17.

The startups will be judged by Investible alongside local investors and venture capitalists (VCs) based on the founding team, market traction and ability to scale technology into new markets based on the Invisibility Index. A total of eight minutes are given to each team for pitch and and for Q&A.

According to Investible cofounder Creel Price, entrepreneurs should be concise, and demonstrate confidence and authenticity. “If you can’t say what you do in one succinct sentence, that an average person would understand, then chances are the average angel investor won’t understand either”, he said.

The winning startups from each country will receive free flights to and from, plus accommodation at the OTEC 2019 semi-finals in Kunming, as well as introductions to China’s top VCs. They will also get to participate in peer-to-peer networking with elite startups, and a one-on-one investment meeting with Investible’s Investment team.

Investible, an early-stage investment group in Australia, offers high potential founders the financial, human and intellectual capital needed to scale, with the mission of de-risking angel investment on a global scale. See here for more information on Investible Asia and the OTEC Pitch Heats.
